2A Division II State Champions!

Thursday, December 20, 2012, the East Bernard Brahmas defeated the Corsicana- Mildred Eagles for the 2A Division II State Championship.

Congratulations to our State Champions!  The Students and Faculty of East Bernard ISD are so very proud of you and we thank you for a great representation of our school district.  Thank you for your pride, your great showing of determination, tradition, hard work, and for the great memories!

JV BRAHMARETTE BASKETBALL

The JV gilrs Basketball team defeated Boling last night to go 2-0 in district. The final score was 38-13. 

Scoring for the Brahmarettes were: Samantha Rosales 11 pts, Katie Kubes-7 pts, Maddie Stork, Brooke Boettcher and Aliska Schmidt all had 4 pts each, Bailey Hlavinka-3 pts, Brooke Polak and Meghan Lee-2 pts each and Angie Cruz chipped in a free throw. 

The girls will travel to Shiner on December 31^st.

BRAHMARETTE BASKETBALL

The Varsity Brahmarettes came up short against Boling last night 39-24.  District record now 2-1.  Scoring for the Brahmarettes Terralyn Williams 14 pts, Kaneesha Smith 4 pts, Kori Slanina 2 pts, Angelica Lopez 2 pts, Megan Kramr 2 pts.

The Brahmas took on the Shorthorns from Schulenburg Monday night winning 3 out of 4 games.

 

7th B

The 7th B team fell short in a close one to the Shorthorns 17-15.

The Brahmas are off until after Christmas break.  Their next game is Thursday January 10th at Boling.  They will then host the East Bernard Tournament on Saturday January 12th (Ganado, Industrial).

STATE CHAMPIONSHIP PROGRAM BOOKS

The Mighty Brahma Band has State Championship Program Books for Sale for $5.00 at the band hall.

The program is specific for this game with a picture of the team on the cover and an insert with rosters for both teams.

We will not be able to sell programs at the venue so get them here before we leave town.

The Brahmarette basketball team has a district game Dec 18th at home against Boling.  The JV starts at 5 with the Varsity to follow.

 KULPRADIO.COM will broadcast the game over the radio.  The game will also be televised on Fox Sports Southwest.

JV BRAHMARETTE BASKETBALL 12-11-12

The JV girls defeated the Danbury Panthers for their 2^nd District win in a row last night. They are now 2-0 in District and 9-3 overall. Scores by quarter are as follows:

1^st: 20-6

2^nd:31-10

3^rd:40-10

Final:51-16

Leading the way was Katie Kubes with 9 pts,. Hallye Mice-8pts and Aliska Schmidt-7 pts.

Also helping the Brahmarettes were Rachel Polak and Brooke Boettcher with 5 pts. each, Samantha Rosales-4 pts., Bailey Hlavinka-3 pts, and Jacyci Potts, Malynn Plunkett, Maddie Stork, Megan Lee and Brooke Polak all chipped in a basket each.

The girls will resume district play at Home on Tuesday, December 18^th against Boling.

FAN BUSES

Lance Rejsek is reserving two 56 seat fan buses for the game this Friday in Waco.  The buses will be from Sierra Trailways (same company as the football boys bus.)  Buses will depart the high school gym parking lot at 2pm and return at 2am.  Seats will be $31 per person and can be reserved at Creative Impressions starting at 9am on Tuesday, December 11th.  Seats are on a first-come-first-served basis and there are no refunds.  You must pay to have a seat reserved.

PICTURE RE-TAKE

School retake pictures for all students, faculty and staff who did not take their picture in October will be taken Thursday
morning in the cafeteria. Students who want retakes will also take their picture at that time. The photographers will be set up 
from 7:30 to 9:15 a.m.

Brahmarette Basketball Game Cancelled 12/14

The Brahmarette basketball game scheduled for Friday December 14th against La Grange has been cancelled.

Brahmarette Basketball

The Brahmarettes travel to Danbury tomorrow for their 2nd district game of the season.  The JV and Varsity are both 1-0 in district and hope to keep it going tomorrow.The JV starts at 5 with the Varsity to follow.

The Varsity competed in the Boling tournament over the weekend.  The game results are as follows:  EB 62 -Brazosport Christian 28;  EB 46 - Edna 57; EB 50 - Bloomington 42 and EB 48-  Louise 39.

Terralyn Williams scored 72 points over the weekend and earned All-Tournament Honors.

The JV Girls Basketball team started District play on Tuesday night against Van Vleck. The EB girls struggled early in the game but came out after halftime more aggressive and ready to play.

Scoring for the Brahmarettes were as follows:

Courtney Clipson 12, Rachel Polak-9, Maddie Stork-5, Brooke Boettcher, Aliska Schmidt, Brooke Polak all with 4 pts. each. And with a basket each were Jacyci Potts, Bailey Hlavinka and Megan Lee. Courtney Clipson was defensive player of the game where she scored 10 pts. off of steals. The girls travel to Danbury next Tuesday where they take their 1-0 District record and 8-3 overall record.

Reminder of School Policy for Illness

 EBISD policy for illness during this cold and flu season.

• Fever at or above 100.4, active vomiting or diarrhea means exclusion from school until 24 hours after symptoms subside.
• A student needs to be fever free without meds i.e. Tylenol/Motrin for 24 hours prior to returning to school

FRESHMAN BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT

The Freshmen girls placed 4^th in the Hallestville Tournament over the weekend. The girls defeated St. Paul by a score of 32-27. They were outscored by Halletsville 29-34 and by El-Campo 16-18.  Top scorers through the tournament are as follows: Brooke Boettcher-30 pts., Hallye Mica-19 pts., and Corrinna Navarro and Brooke Polak-8 pts. each. Kelsey Nichols and Bailey Hlavinka had great defensive games as did Sarah Barrett.

The JV and Varsity take on Van Vleck on Tuesday, December 4^th but Van Vleck does not have a freshmen team.

The cost will be $26.00 per person and it's a 56 passenger bus. It is on a first come first serve basis.

All money is due by NOON on Wednesday (12/5/12) and is to paid at Creative Impressions. IF we don't get enough interest the money will be refunded to you.

Your seat will not be guaranteed until you pay the $26.00.

We must let the company know our intentions within 48 hours or we are out the cost of the bus.

JV BASKETBALL WIN TOURNAMENT

The JV Girls Basketball team won the Championship at the Halletsville Tournament this weekend. They defeated St. Paul, Halletsville and El Campo.

Top scorers for the 3 games are as follows: Rachel Polak-21 pts., Aliska Schmidt-18 pts, Megan Lee-16 pts, Katie Kubes-15 pts., Samantha Rosales-8 pts, Maddie Stork-7 pts and Courtney Clipson-2 pts.

The girls have an overall record of 7-3 and start district play on Tuesday, Dec. 4^th at Home.

Brahmarette Basketball

The Brahmarette Basketball team starts District play tomorrow at home against Van Vleck.  The JV will start at 5:00 with the Varsity to follow. 

 

The Varsity will also be competing in the Boling tournament this weekend. 

 

The JV tournament scheduled for Rice this weekend has been canceled.
