The Varsity Brahmarettes went to Rice last night and came away with a big district win 52-43. The win wraps up 3rd place for the girls and secures a playoff spot for the second year in a row. Scoring for the Brahmarettes were Kaneesha Smith - 20; Rachel Polak - 7; Amanda Boettcher - 6; Megan Kramr - 5; Brooke Boettcher - 5; Kelly Kubena - 3; Aliska Schmidt - 2; Angelica Lopez - 2; Courtney Clipson - 2. Brandy Babin and Rebecca Rabius contributed with great defense and rebounding. Other members of the team include Madison Francis, Amber Matej, Hallye Mica and Bailey Hlavinka. The playoffs start next week with the opponent yet to be determined. Details will follow as they are available.
