EBHS Freshman and JV Football Results

Brahmas Blank Bears

Yesterday the EB Freshman team traveled to Crump Stadium in Houston to take on Alief Hastings. From the Opening kickoff, to the final play of the game the Brahmas dominated in all facets of the game winning 25-0. The Brahma Defense set the tone with stifling play right out the gate, forcing the Bears to turn it over on downs. Offensively the Brahma slot t attack was too potent for the Bears. The Brahmas dominated the line of scrimmage, and Weston Swoboda capped our first drive with a touchdown run. After a failed extra point attempt, our defense went back to work, and continued to frustrate the Bears. Once again, the Bears tested our Brahma defense failing to convert on fourth down for the second straight possession.

In the second quarter, the Brahma offense began to exert their will on the Bear defense. Our offensive line continued to mash the Bears off the ball and Mason Crist capped our second drive with a long touchdown run. Boone Lee added our first made extra point of the year. A quick stop and ruthless offensive attack had the Bears in a whole again. With seconds to go in the half, Caleb Magness hooked up with Lee on a long td pass. The Brahmas ending the half in a fury led the Bears 19-0. The second half was much like the first, tenacious defense and a relentless offense fueled the Brahmas. Swoboda capped the Brahma sscoring for the day with a fifth yard touchdown run, pushing the score to 25-0. Mason Winkler added the icing on the cake for the Brahmas, intercepting the Bears on the final play.

The Brahma defense was led by stellar play from Swoboda, Lee, Samuel Coker, Blake Jedlicka, and Mark Glover. Our offensive line played outstanding, Jonah Kubena, Raul Contreras, Coker, David Zavala, and Carson Kubicek were true road graders today. Everyone should be extremely proud of our Brahmas, their execution and contagious team attitude sparked a true team win. If you see any of these young men today, please congratulate them on a job well done.

JV

t your JV Brahmas went to Van Vleck to take on the Leopards. After a hot start to the ball game, the Brahmas eventually came out on top winning 28-6.

The Leopards got the ball to start the game and the Brahmas set the tone early with a quick three and out led by great stops from Andrew Schmidt and Nik Schatz. Once the Brahmas got the ball they had a great drive led by runs from Andrew Dirba and Riley Polak. This drive was capped off with a touchdown run from quarterback Dallas Novicke. When the Brahmas went back on defense it was another quick three and out with key tackles from Cason Ivy, Devin Bowen, Ethan Hlavinka, and Carlos Montalbo. After the second consecutive three and out the Brahmas quickly scored from a Novicke pass to Cole Polak. As you can see the Brahmas had control of the game from the very first whistle.

The defense had another great night only allowing the Leopards into their side of the field once. The defense had two interceptions on the night, one from Brennan Peloquin and the other from Dylan Baird. The defensive secondary was tested all night with deep throws. Brody Reineke and Trey Steffens did a tremendous job stopping the Leopard passing attack. Other contributors for the defensive outing on the night were Blake Walters and Riley Moseley.

The offense had a great start to the game and held the ball for most of the 3rd quarter. Quarterback Dallas Novicke had a great game with two touchdowns on the ground and two touchdowns through the air. Catching the two touchdowns were Cole Polak and Jose Cubias. The offensive line had a great game as well led by Bryce Somer, Caydan Hall, Charles Boettcher, and Raul Tavarez.

Special teams also had a great game led by Dallas Novicke converting all 4 extra points on the night. Also, Andrew Schmidt had a great game running down the field and making many tackles on kickoff.

The Brahmas had a great outing in their first district game of the year. This improves their record to 4-0 overall and 1-0 in district. The JV Brahmas will be back in action at Memorial Field next Thursday taking on the Tidehaven Tigers. If you see any of these young men please congratulate them. Thank you for your continued support of these amazing student athletes.
