EBHS CC District Results



The East Bernard CC teams competed in their District meet this past Monday in Palacios. In the Varsity Girls race, East Bernard claimed the District Championship for the 12th year in a row earning the team a chance to compete in the Regional Meet in Huntsville on Monday, October 22, 2018. The Brahmarettes finished the race with 21 points to claim the top spot, followed by Palacios with 53 points for 2nd place, and Danbury 3rd place with 63 points. Individually, East Bernard had 6 district medalists out of the top 10 spots. Madison Muzik placed 2nd, Aracely Acevedo was 3rd, Libby Hancock was 4th, Emma Alexander was 5th, Kimball Swiger was 7th, and Samantha Rabius was 9th to all qualify individually to compete at Regional. Caitlyn Fuechec finished 11th, just one place out of earning medalist honors. In the Varsity Boys race, East bernard claimed the Runner-up spot to qualify for the regional Meet. Palacios claimed the District Championship with 31 points, East Bernard 2nd with 46 points, and Tidehaven 3rd with 77 points to all advance. Individually, Bo Badger earned the District title, with Mason Crist finishing 7th, and Kolby Townsend 8th to all earn medalist honors and qualify individually to compete at the Regional Meet. Barrett Whitley finished 11th, Jackson Barta 19th, Ethan Rejsek 20th, and Cade Grovanovic 31st to finish out the placing for East Bernard. In the JV Girls race, East bernard was 1 girl short of fielding a team, but the girls finished in the top 4 places with very good times. Alyssa Schulte claimed the District JV title, followed closely by Maria Avila in 2nd, Sophie Morrow in 3rd, and Alejandra Avila in 4th place. In the JV Boys race, Jake Nethery was the only EB runner, and he finished 10th overall. Congratulations to all the runners!! The Jr. High CC teams competed this past Saturday in Palacios. The JH Girls claimed the team title with 20 points, followed by Boling with 43 points, and Tidehaven with 69 points. Individually, Abby Hudgins was the first EB runner to cross in 4th place, followed by Kellen Dorotik in 6th, Kylee Bates in 7th, Anna Witte in 8th, and Kyleigh Longoria in 10th to all earn medalist honors. Megan Gasch finished 13th, Addison Opela was 14th, Emma McAnally 15th, Jenna Krpec 16th, Kadence Hernandez 17th, Briseyda Castillo 23rd, Paige Marcantel 27th, and Kendyll Ermis 28th. In the boys race, Palacios edged out East bernard by 1 point: Palacios finished with 27 points and East Bernard with 28 points. Individually, Colby Kurtz was the first EB runner to cross in 2nd place, followed by Jaime Gutierrez in 5th, Chris Kopecky in 6th, and Jackson Morrow 9th to all earn medalist honors. Clayton Fajkus was 11th, Maddoz Crist 13th, Zach Fuechec 14th, and Zym Jochec 15th to complete the team placings. Congratulations to all the athletes!!
