EBHS Freshman Football vs El Campo Results

Yesterday, the EB Freshman team was cocked, locked, and ready to rock  the El Campo Ricebirds. Memorial Stadium was like a field of dove hunters, on opening day.  EB won the toss and proceeded to blast the Ricebirds all over Memorial Stadium 26-0. A heavy dose of running by Blake Jedlicka and Weston Swoboda helped march the Brahmas down the field on their opening possession.  Caleb Magness capped the Brahma drive with a 15 yd touchdown pass to Blake Jedlicka. The next series the Brahma defense continued to dominate the line of scrimmage. All game the Brahma defense looked like the stone wall built by Nehemiah in Jerusalem.  Each player on defense continued to hold their end of the rope and overwhelmed the Ricebird attack, holding their second opponent in a row scoreless.
After forcing a punt, the Brahma offense once again was on the march.  A fifty-five yard touchdown scamper by Weston Swoboda, put the Brahmas up 14-0.  The defense continued to stifle the Ricebird attack and forced a punt once again.  Running the Ball proved to be the formula all game long, for the Brahmas. Swoboda capped another Brahma drive with a long touchdown run bringing the score to 20-0 at the half.  The second half started much like the first, the Brahmas ferocious defense wouldn’t give an inch forcing another punt. A long third quarter drive by the Brahmas ended with an unfortunate fumble, however our stingy defense kept the Ricebirds at bay.  The third quarter came to an end without a change on the scoreboard, 20-0 Brahmas.
In the fourth quarter, the Brahmas added one more score for the day.  Mason Crist capped another long scoring drive with an outstanding run in the red zone.  Today the Brahma offensive attack was led by outstanding play on the ground by Swoboda, Jedlicka, Crist, and Minks.  The Brahmas offensive line continues to be the foundation of our offensive attack and they out physicaled the Ricebirds today.  Defensively the Brahmas had truly a team effort, I could list every kid down, because everyone did their job today. However, several kids led the way for us today, Bryan Olvera, Swoboda, Jonah Kubena, Mark Glover, and Boone Lee led our defense today.
A stifling defense and a tenacious offense was to much for the Ricebirds, the Brahmas pushed their opponent scoreless scoring streak to ten quarters.  Please make sure we congratulate our young freshman for a job well done. Next week the Brahmas will travel to Tomball Christian in look for their third win in a row.
