EBHS CC Yoakum Meet Results



The East Bernard Boys and Girls Cross Country Teams competed in Yoakum this past weekend. The Boys competed against 9 other teams and finished 2nd overall. Bo Badger was the first EB runner to cross in 6th place followed by Mason Crist in 15th, Barrett Whitley in 20th, Kolby Townsend 24th, and Ethan Rejsek in 26th to give the team a score of 67 points. Jackson Barta finished 29th, Austin Drapier was 40th and Cade Grovanovic was 52nd overall. Mathis claimed the team title with 63 points, East Bernard 2nd with 67 points and Industrial was 3rd with 75 points. In the girls race, East Bernard claimed the team title against 12 teams with 8 girls finishing in the top 20. Madison Muzik was the first EB runner to finish in 5th place followed by Erica Beaird in 9th, Aracely Acevedo in 14th, Caitlyn Fuechec in 16th, Libby Hancock in 17th, Emma Alexander in 18th, Alyssa Schulte in 19th, Kimball Swiger in 20th, Rebecca Beaird in 32nd, and Sophie Morrow in 35th place overall. East bernard won the team title with 56 points, followed by Yoakum with 72 points, Brazos 3rd with 86 points, Goliad 4th with 104 points, and Gonzales 5th with 114 points. In the JH races, the JH Boys finished 2nd overall with 33 points to Yoakum who earned 22 points. Individually, Colby Kurtz crossed the finish line in 4th place, followed by James Guitierrez in 5th, Chris Kopecky in 7th, Clayton Faijkus in 10th, Jackson Morrow in 14th, Zach Fuechec in 15th, and Maddox Crist in 17th place to help earn the runner-up finish. In the girls race, East Bernard narrowly claimed the team title by 2 points finishing first with 32 points closely followed by Industrial with 34 points and Yoakum in 3rd with 69 points. Individually, Kellen Dorotik crossed first for EB in 5th place, followed by Megan Gasch in 6th, Jenna Krpec in 7th, Kyleigh Longoria 9th, Kylee Bates 10th, Myla Mahalitc in 12th, Briseyda Castillo in 17th, Emma McAnnaly in 20th, Jessica Harris in 21st, Kadence Hernandez in 26th, Paige Marcantel in 29th, Kendylle Ermis in 32nd, and Addison Opela in 35th place overall. Congratulations to all the runners!! The Varsity Cross Country teams will be competing in Nacogdoches this weekend in the Lumberjack Invitational.
