EBHS Cross Country @ SFA Lumberjack Invitational Results

The Varsity Boys and Girls CC teams competed in the SFA Lumberjack Invitational this past weekend in Nacogdoches. Both teams faced tough competition against several 5A and 6A teams. The Varsity girls competed in the 5K race finishing in 3rd place behind Klein and Klein Oak who tied with 51 points each. East Bernard finished with 68 points with Kingwood Park in 4th with 105 points. There were 14 teams competing in their division. Individually, Liz Guerra was the first EB finisher in 8th place with a time of 20:18, followed by AJ Navarro in 13th with 21:05, Jillian Hlavinka in 14th with 21:09, Kensi Muzik in 22nd with 21:48, and Brooke Petrenella in 32nd with 22:22 for the top 5 EB finishers. Gracelyn Martinez was 38th, Caitlyn Fuechec was 42nd, Julia Janczak 46th and Alyssa Schulte 48th out of 87 runners competing in the race. In the boys race, there were 32 teams competing with East Bernard finishing 15th overall. Pollock Central was the only 3A school to finish ahead of East Bernard. Individually, Reagan Whitley was the first East Bernard harrier to finish in 48th place with a time of 18:31, followed by Blaine Whitley in 82nd, with 19:32, Isaac Ortiz 102nd with19:53, Bo Badger in 105th with 19:56, Jacob Wondrash 106th with 19:57, David Martinez 125th with 20:25, Chris Baggett 138th with 20:42, Brandon Smith 147th with 21:06.17 and Ethan Rejsek 148th with 21:06.65 with 238 boys competing in their division. Congratulations to all the runners! They will be competing in Huntsville on Saturday in the Region lll Cross Country Preview at Kate Barr-Ross Park with the girls scheduled to race at 9:55 followed by the boys race at 10:20.
