The East Bernard Baseball team defeated the visiting Brazos
Cougars by a score of 9-6 on Friday night. Leading the way at the plate was
Jake Zurek with 2 hits, 2 RBI’s, and 2 runs, Allen Anderson with 2 triples, 2
runs, and an RBI, Travis Hlavinka with 2 hits, an RBI, and a run, Matthew Tovar
with 2 hits and 2 RBI’s, JJ Talas with 2 hits and a run, and Austin Henry with
a hit and an RBI. Getting the win on the mound was Matthew Tovar, with Allen
Anderson earning the save. This win brings their district record to 9-2 and
overall record to 14-6. They will play their last game of district tomorrow at
6:00 in Van Vleck. There will be no J.V. game tomorrow
