EBHS Mighty Brahma Band Sends Students to All Region Band

The EBHS Band just returned from All Region Band Auditions and below are the results. I am proud of all the kids who gave up their Saturday to attend and compete. East Bernard students represented well. This is the largest group of students who attended and advanced since I've been here. See Below:

Alissa Suarez came in 38th overall on the Flute

Sara Kubena came in 37th overall on the Clarinet

Marissa Suarez came in 39th overall on the Clarinet

Mariah Suarez came in 1st on Alto Clarinet made the Symphonic top performing group and advances to Area Competition

Courtney Gomez came in 4th on Bass clarinet made the Symphonic top performing group and advances to Area Competition

Ray Montalbo made 7th in Bass Clarinet and earned a spot in the Concert band as well as placing 2nd on the Contra-Bass Clarinet also earning a spot in the Symphonic Band and advances to Area Competition. He will get to choose which band he would like to perform with.

Sarah Pirtle came in 25th overall on the trumpet which does not place her in a band however she does get allowed to advance to Area Competition

Alex Lopez placed 39th overall on the trumpet

Tara Kubena placed 34th overall on the french horn

Katelynn Leonards placed 6th overall on the Euphonium earning a spot in the Concert Band and advancing to Area Competition

Alex Espinosa placed 13th overall and earned an alternate spot in band and will be allowed to advance to Area Competition

Chris Murrile placed 48th overall in percussion

Tony Martinez placed 25th overall in percussion which does not put in in a spot for a band but advances him to Area Competition as well.

Please congratulate these kids on their wonderful accomplishment and wish them luck at Area Competition which will be held on January 9th in Orange Grove. If they advance from Area they could earn a spot on the All State Band which meets at the Texas Music Educators Association Convention in San Antonio where they get to perform a concert for all the band directors in attendance throughout the state. It is a very prestigious honor and you have to beat out a lot of students to earn a spot.

Go Mighty Brahma Band!!!
