Mr. Vanek presented a $2461 check to East Bernard High School on behalf of the CPAs Helping Schools Committee of the Houston CPA Society. The grant was submitted by Laura Kubena in October 2013 to be used for new textbooks and online automated accounting simulators. The new textbooks will be a welcome addition to the Accounting I class. The current textbooks are over ten years old and are very outdated. On behalf of East Bernard High School and the Accounting I class, we would like to send out our sincere appreciation to the Houston CPA Society for this generous donation.
