The Freshmen and JV
Girls Basketball Teams opened up play last night in Needville. The Freshmen
team played very well and won 35-11. Scoring for the Brahmarettes were the
following girls:Brooke Boettcher 18pts, Hallye Mica 12, Bailey Hlavinka 6,
Sarah Barrett 5, Corrina Navarro and Brooke Polak 2 pts. each. Malynn Plunkett
and Hallye Mica were defensive standouts for the team.
The JV Girls with
only a few days practice due to the VB playoffs did not fare as well but still
played hard and never gave up. The JV lost to Needville 11-35. Scoring for the
Brahmarettes were Katie Kubes-4pts, Courtney Clipson-3, Megan Lee and Aliska
Schmidt with 2 pts. each.
The girls will
compete in the East Bernard Tournament on Thursday and Saturday (11/15 &
11/17). They will play at home on Tuesday (11/20) against Industrial with the
first game at 5:00.
