EBHS Freshman and JV Football Results

The Freshman Brahma’s traveled to Houston to take on the Tomball Christian Warriors. Short fields and turnovers trampled the Brahmas hope for another victory. The young Brahmas looked like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, a team of two faces whose early mistakes cost them the victory.

Halftime sparked a charge into the Brahma defense, who would inevitably shut out the Warriors in the second half. Mason Crist had an outstanding interception on third down, which he returned to their 9 yard line. Today the Brahma Defense was led by outstanding second half play from Blake Jedlicka, Weston Swoboda, Boone Lee, Jonah Kubena, and Mark Glover. Offensively scoring was a struggle for our young Brahmas, however our young men showed great resolve against a bigger faster opponent. In the second half, the Brahmas offense got back to their smash mouth ground and pound offensive attack. The offense was led by hard running from Blake Jedlicka and Weston Swoboda.

The game did not go our way, but everyone should be extremely proud of these young men. They played with great character and class for forty minutes. Please congratulate our kids not on the loss but congratulate them for their relentless effort and remember iron has to pass through fire before it can become steel. Next Thursday the Brahmas will take on Hempstead at Memorial Stadium.

Your East Bernard JV Football team took on the Edna Cowboys over in Edna. The Brahmas were lead by a great defensive outing winning the game 23-0.

The Defense consistently made great stops throughout the game. The game was sealed late with an interception from Brennan Peloquin and a safety led by Dallas Novicke. Overall the defense only let the Cowboys get to their end of the field once the entire game. Also contributing to the defensive charge was Davis Coldeway, Trey Steffens, Jose Cubias, Carlos Montalbo, Raul Tavarez, Nik Schatz, Brody Reinecke, and Cole Polak.

The Offense for the Brahmas had to show some perseverance throughout the night. The Brahmas had to earn everything they got offensively last night. Standouts offensively for the Brahmas were Nik Schatz, Andrew Schmidt, and Dallas Novicke, all scoring touchdowns. Other standouts for the Brahmas were Ethan Hlavinka and Charles Boettcher for their outstanding blocking on the perimeter. Running the ball hard for the Brahmas were Andrew Dirba and Riley Polak. None of this could have been possible without the tough blocking upfront by Bryce Somer, Casen Ivy, Caydan Hall, Blake Walters, Dylan Baird, Riley Moseley, and Devin Bowen.

Special teams were led by great kicking by Grant Prazak converting on all of his extra points, going 3-3 for the night.

The Brahmas played a tough, hard nosed game and we are all extremely proud to come out victorious. If you see any of these young men please be sure to congratulate them on a game well played.
