EBHS Girls Basketball Results



On Day 1 of the Wharton Tournament the J.V. girls came home with 2 wins. In the first game they defeated Needville by a score of 47-11. Zoey Talas was leading scorer with 13 pts. Paige Nixon was right behind her with 12 pts. Also scoring for the Brahmarettes were Lexi Marik, Taylor Bottoms, Madison Crist, Dakota Domel all with 4 pts. each. Keatan Fortenberry, Peyton McGuire and Camryn Whitley all had 2 pts. each.
In Game 2 the Brahmarettes defeated Boling by a score of 49-18. Zoey Talas lead the way with 12 pts. Also scoring were Keatan Fortenberry-11pts. McKenna Novicke, Peyton McGuire, Camryn Whitley-4 pts. each, Paige Nixon, Taylor Bottoms-3 pts. each, Lexi Marik, Madison Crist, Dakota Domel, Brooke Babin-2 pts. each.
The girls will resume play on Saturday morning facing Wharton and Hitchcock. The girls are currently 8-1 on the season.



The East Bernard Brahmarettes opened up the Schulenburg tournament with two solid wins on Thursday night. The first game the Brahmarettes defeated Weimar by a score of 49-31. Everyone on the team contributed to the scoring total for EB in both contests. Leading the way was Mackensi Muzik with 9, Cheslee Karasek with 9, Deedee Smith with 7, Jessica Rabius with 6, Julia Janczak with 6, Erin Dawson with 5, Emily Kurtz with 3, Logan Goudeau with 2, and Blair Berry with 2.
The second game featured the Brahmarettes vs Lexington. The Brahmarettes used a strong first quarter to gain the lead and never look back, winning by a final of 53-39. Leading the charge was Jessica Rabius with 10, Mackensi Muzik with 10, Julia Janczak with 9, Cheslee Karasek with 6, Erin Dawson with 5, Deedee Smith with 5, Emily Kurtz with 3, Logan Goudeau with 2, and Blair Berry with 1.
The two wins improve The Brahmarettes overall record to 7-3. They will be back in action tomorrow at 4:40 against Somerville, and again at 7:20 against Schulenburg.
