BRAHMAS BATTLE FOR A BIG WIN !!

The East Bernard Brahmas defeated the Banquete Bulldogs in game one last night at Wolff Stadium in San Antonio by the score of 9-4.

Kyle Hlavinka was on the mound for the Brahmas and got the win. Kyle had an off night giving up 5 hits, walking 5, hitting 4 batters and while only recording 4 strikeouts but the defense held and the offense battled for the win.

Leading the charge on the Brahma offense was Grant Aschenbeck driving in 4 runs with a single, a double, and a big base clearing triple. Derrick Rucka had two hits and two RBI's.
Kyle Hlavinka also had a double and two RBI's.The bottom half of the order played a big role in the win by scratching their way on base and scoring 6 of the 9 runs.

Defensively, there were some great plays made that helped the Brahmas pull out the victory. Tyler Sulak made two big running catches and threw out a guy at second base. Garrett Polak made a great throw to Aschenbeck at second who then turned a big double play on the throw to Cole Koeppen at first to take any momentum Banquete was trying to build. Justin Mcguire threw out a runner at third base and another at second base snuffing out the running attack of the Bulldogs. Caemen Mayfield ran down a deep fly ball that was hit over his head to deep center to take away the extra base hit late in the game. Derrick Rucka made the plays at shortstop look easy.

It was a great team win !!  Thank you for your continued support!!

The Brahmas will take on the Banquete Bulldogs in game two on Saturday at Wolff Stadium in San Antonio at 12:00 p.m.
