The Brahmarettes played host to the visiting La Marque
Cougars last night for their second district game. East Bernard found
themselves down by 11 in the third quarter before rallying back to beat La
Marque by a final score of 51-44. Leading Scorers for the Brahmarettes were Sabrina
Show with 11, Kristen Morse with 10, Julia Janczak with 10, Maycie Atteberry
with 6, DeeDee Smith with 5, Rebecca Rabius with 5, Cheslee Karasek with 2, and
Erin Dawson with 2. The Brahmarettes are now 1-1 in district and 13-10 on the
Season. The JV and Varsity will be back in action on Friday, in Danbury,
starting at 5:00. The JV White team will play in Edna starting at 5:00 on
Friday.
The
Brahmarettes hosted La Marque in their second district game last night. They
had a convincing win by defeating the Cougars 54-17. Emily Kurtz had the hot
hand by scoring 23 pts., 10 of which she scored in the first quarter. Also
scoring for the Brahmarettes were: Mackensi Muzik-13 pts., Logan Goudeau-6,
Brooke Dirba and Morgan Kubes-4 pts. each, Hayley Hoegemeyer-2, and Bailey
Whitley and Alyssa Schulte with a free throw a piece.
The J.V.
girls are 10-3 on the season and 2-0 in District. They travel to Danbury on
Friday to take on the Panthers.
