Yesterday our varsity tennis team competed in a very tough Wharton tournament. The kids began play at 8AM and our last player finished her match after 6PM last night!
Results:
Ethan Rejsek won his first match of the day and then fell to Brenham and Bellville-finishing 4th overall in A boys' singles.
Rina Bowers & Peyton McGuire: defeated Brenham, lost to Bellville and defeated Needville to take home 3rd place overall in A girls' doubles.
Madison Crist & Brooke Babin: won their first two matches and lost to Bellville in the Championship match -finishing 2nd overall in the B girls' doubles bracket.
Cole Lee & Ethan Hlavinka: defeated West Columbia in a tiebreaker to win the consolation championship in A boys' doubles.
Mason Crist & Caleb Magness: defeated Sweeny and then fell to Bellville before coming back and winning their third match-placing 3rd overall in B boys' doubles.
Boone Lee & Emma Potts: won their first match, fell to Wharton, and then won their third match to finish 3rd overall in B mixed doubles.
Kenadi Domel: fell to Bellville before coming back and winning her second match. She fell to Brenham in the tie breaker and placed 2nd in the consolation bracket.
Rylee Kellner lost her first match to Wharton, won her second and then fell to Brazosport-she finished 2nd in the Consolation bracket of A girls' singles
Reagan Goudeau won her first match, fell in a tie breaker to Bellville and then lost her third match-placing 4th overall in B girls' singles
Other players competing in the tournament: Camden East in B girls' singles and Evan Wilson in B boys' singles. Jonah Kubena and Abbi Joines also competed in A mixed doubles-one of the toughest brackets of the tournament.
