EBHS Girls Basketball Schulenburg Tournament Results
The Brahmarettes traveled to Schulenburg for the final day of the tournament this morning. East Bernard was able to secure a hard fought 34-31 victory over Shiner to improve their overall record to 3-3 on the season. Scoring for the Brahmarettes was Zoey Talas with 8, Erin Beaird with 7, Deedee Smith with 5, Keatan Fortenberry with 5, Cheslee Karasek with 5, Lexi Marik with 2, and Taylor Bottoms with 2. Leading the charge defensively was Brooke Dirba, Paige Nixon, Brooke Babin, and Dakota Domel. The Brahmarettes will be back in action on Tuesday, at home, against Columbus. Jv will begin at 5:00 with varsity to follow.
Day 2 of the Schulenburg tournament. Varsity lost to LaGrange by a score of 38-29. Scoring for the Brahmarettes was Deedee Smith with 8 points, Lexi Marik with 4, Zoey Talas with 3. Erin Beaird, Cheslee Karasek, Taylor Bottoms, Brooke Dirba, Paige Nixon, McKenna Novicke, and Dakota Domel each added 2 points. Battling hard in the paint for EB was Brooke Babin and Keatan Fortenberry.
In the second game, the Brahmarettes battled Shiner St Paul hard but fell short by a score of 40-35. Leading the scoring was Deedee Smith with 9, Zoey Talas with 9, Cheslee Karasek with 8, McKenna Novicke with 4, Dakota Domel with 2, Brooke Dirba with 2, and Taylor Bottoms with 1.
All three teams will play tomorrow. Jv White and JV Maroon will play at 11:30 in Hallettsville, while varsity will play 10:20 in Schulenburg against Shiner.
