The
Brahmarette J.V. Basketball Team started their season yesterday with 2
victories in the EB Tournament. In the first game the girls had a 2 pt.
halftime lead over Industrial before pulling away in the second half with a
final score of 45-24. Mackensi Muzik led the way with 13 pts. Also scoring for
the Brahmarettes were Erin Dawson and Dee Dee Smith with 11 pts. each, Morgan
Kubes-5 pts., Brooke Dirba-3 pts. and Logan Goudeau and Blaire Berry had a free
throw a piece. Muzik, Dawson, Goudeau and Dirba led the team defensively.
In Game 2,
the Brahmarettes defeated Wharton 46-25. The following girls all scored for the
team: Erin Dawson-9 pts., Blaire Berry-8, Dee Dee Smith-7, Logan Goudeau-5,
Alyssa Schulte and Mackensi Muzik-4 pts. each, Brooke Dirba-3, Morgan Kubes,
Bailey Whitely, Hayley Hoegemeyer-2 pts. each. Dee Dee Smith, Logan Goudeau and
Mackensi Muzik led the team defensively.
The
Brahmarettes will return to action on Saturday at 9:30 when they play their
final game of the tournament against Hallettsville.
