The East Bernard Brahmarette Freshman team began their season yesterday with 3 victories in the EB Tournament. In the first game against St. Agnes, Lexi Marek and Taylor Bottoms led the way with 6 points each. McKenna Novicke had 4 and Dakota Domel had 3. Domel, Marik, and Bottoms led the team defensively. The game was tied at the end of the 4th quarter. In overtime the Brahmarettes pulled out a victory with a score of 19-18.
Second game of the tournament EB freshman played Hallettsville. Kenna and Brooke Babin led the team with 6 points each, Domel with 4, Marik with 3 and Bottoms with 2. Defensive leaders of the game were Bottoms, and Reagan Greak. EB pulled ahead in the 4th quarter beating Halletsville 21-8.
In the 3rd and final game of the tournament, EB played Harmony. The entire team played great defense and only allowing Harmony to score 2 points in the 3rd quarter. Lexi Marik led the team with 20 points, Domel right behind with 14. Bottoms had 9 and Novicke, Babin, and Rieger with 2 each. The girls played one heck of a game. Final score 49-2
EB Freshman will play next Tuesday against Victoria West in Victoria at 4. 3-0, Great start to the season!
