Yesterday 32 EB FFA members traveled to Bay City in order to compete in the District 3 Leadership Development Contests. Members tried out for the various teams in early September and have been practicing since mid- September all for one chance in front of the judges to impress them and advance to the Area 3 contests on November 19 in Brenham at Blinn College. We had 62 students try out locally for Leadership teams. There are a total of 13 different contests and we fielded teams in 10 of those contests. Below are the results and a picture of some of our students and the banners are attached. A special thank you to Mr. Janczak for making 2 trips to Bay City to help shuttle volleyball and football players back for practice.
2nd Place- Ag Issues Forum- Savannah Goudeau, Brent Vacek, Monica Reyna, Shawna Lackey, and Cheyenne Novicke- ADVANCED TO AREA CONTEST - Gave a 15 minute presentation over the Pros and Cons of Antibiotic Use in Food Producing Animals
3rd- JR Creed Speaking- Hailey Henry- recited the FFA Creed
3rd- Jr FFA Quiz- Kendall Araguz, Sydnie Lackey, McKenna Novicke, Cana Mathys- 4th High Individual in the district. -Completed a 100 question test over FFA knowledge, Parliamentary Procedure, and Texas FFA information.
4th- Sr. Skills Demonstration- Braden Janecek, Tanner Schmidt, Zach Vacek, Dalton Schmidt, Joseph Vacek - Gave a 15 minute presentation on the proper way to install a metal roof.
4th- Sr FFA Quiz- Marissa Macha- 8th High Individual in the district, Jenna LeBlanc, Alcadia Salcido, Brent Vacek, Blair Berry- Completed a 150 question test over FFA Knowledge, Parliamentary Procedure, Texas FFA Information, Agricultural Issues and Events and Farm Facts and Data.
4th- Ag Advocacy- Morgan Whitley, Brooke Babin, Shelby AuBuchon, Bailey Jankowski - Gave an 8 minute presentation Advocating for Agriculture.
4th- Job Interview- Logan Goudeau - Completed the jobinterview process including developing a resume, cover letter, completing a phone interview, personal interview, and a follow up letter after the personal interview.
5th- Radio Broadcasting - Hannah Daigle, Taylor Swoboda, Hadley Carr - Complete an 8 minute radio broadcast over Animal Manure
8th- Public Relations- Lindsey Matej, Julia Janczak, Shea Potts, Harper Carr - Gave an 8 minute presentation over the FFA targeting the audience of School Administrators
8th- Sr Creed Speaking - Abby Sellers- Recited the FFA creed
