East Bernard ISD Cafeteria—MENU IS IMPROVING
& EXPANDING
Starting March 10, 2016
March 1, 2016
Dear Parents and
Students:
We have taken your suggestions and are making the necessary
changes to improve our food service program. Starting March 10th we
will have new menus with a variety of options daily. EBISD will feature entrée
salads like popcorn chicken, fajita, and taco salads, just to name a few, and
will be available to all students. The district has decided to implement some
new food service and menu changes with the assistance of our new food service
consulting company, Walker Quality Services. This company works with other
districts in our area as well as with professional teams like the Dallas
Cowboys and former Houston Oilers. His team of chefs and staff will work with
East Bernard ISD to create the ultimate program. We are eager to hear from you
and together we will continue to raise the bar.
Elementary campus:
We will be featuring “FUN” lunches on the main lunch line along with salads and
an entree. Students will be able to order your food in the morning through
their classroom teacher much like ordering off a restaurant menu. The choices
will be announced daily and turned in to the cafeteria in the morning. We have
many new menu item ideas in store for the students, including cookouts, and
we’ll have a few healthier snack ala carte items like low calorie rice crispy
treats and 100% fruit juice slushies. More information on pricing and elementary ordering coming soon.
Jr. High/High School:
JH & HS will have a variety of choices like salads, burger and chicken
baskets, rotating theme bars, and a variety of choices of drinks and other
popular entrees. In addition, we will also be adding several new ala carte
favorites like spicy chicken sandwiches, personal pan pizzas, taquitos, chicken
items and more.
Please make sure you check the menu daily and have updated
your meal account balances to help speed up the lines. The meal prices will
remain the same. For a la carte (snack bar) items, students must have money in
their meal account (no delinquent balances, and no “charging” is allowed.)
The EBISD Cafeteria
invites you to attend an open house sampling on March 9th from 5:00-6:00pm at
the cafeteria.
Sincerely,
Courtney Hudgins, Superintendent
