EBHS Spring Break Softball Results



Softball stayed busy over spring break.  Below are the results of each game.

East Bernard vs. Boling

Five first-inning runs helped East Bernard Brahmarettes to a 9-7 win over Boling at East Bernard on Friday.

East Bernard Brahmarettes scored in the first on a two-run double by Maycie Atteberry, a two-run double by Cheslee Karasek, and a groundout by Kaitlyn Sulak.

East Bernard Brahmarettes held off Boling , as Boling was unable to overcome a six-run third inning deficit.

Boling scored on an RBI single by #5 in the fourth inning, a two-run double by #1 in the fifth inning, an error in the sixth inning, and an error in the seventh inning. Still, Boling couldn't catch East Bernard Brahmarettes.

Sulak got the win for East Bernard Brahmarettes despite seven runs over seven innings. Sulak struck out six, walked four and gave up 10 hits.

Alyssa Reyes, Kelbi Fortenberry, Atteberry and Karasek helped lead East Bernard Brahmarettes. They combined for eight hits and six RBIs.

#9 couldn't get it done on the rubber for Boling , taking a loss. She allowed nine runs in six innings, walked two and struck out three.

One run in the top of the second helped Boling close its deficit to 5-1. An RBI single by #1 set off Boling rally. Finally, Sulak got #10 to strike out to end the threat.

After pushing across one run in the top of the third, Boling faced just a 5-2 deficit. A groundout by #17 sparked Boling 's rally. East Bernard Brahmarettes stopped the rally after Sulak got #13 to fly out.

East Bernard Brahmarettes quickly matched Boling 's strong inning with a three-run inning of its own in the third. East Bernard Brahmarettes scored on an RBI single by Karasek and a two-run double by Sulak.

It didn't take long for East Bernard Brahmarettes to respond as it scored one run of its own in the fourth. East Bernard Brahmarettes scored on a solo home run by Reyes.

East Bernard vs. Hempstead

Two pitchers combined to throw a no-hitter for East Bernard Brahmarettes in a 12-0 victory in five innings over Hempstead on Tuesday at Hempstead.

Kaitlyn Sulak and Kristin Kieler teamed up to stifle Hempstead , striking out 11 while walking one.
Sulak had an impressive outing against Hempstead 's lineup. Sulak held Hempstead hitless over four innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out nine.

East Bernard Brahmarettes beat Hempstead thanks to 10 hits, including three extra base hits. East Bernard Brahmarettes scored six runs in the fifth on East Bernard Brahmarettes scored in the fifth on a two-run error, an error, a walk by Maycie Atteberry, and a two-run error.

Kelbi Fortenberry had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. She tripled in the second and fourth innings.

#6 was the game's losing pitcher. She allowed 12 runs in five innings, walked five and struck out one.

East Bernard Brahmarettes never trailed after scoring two runs in the first on two singles.

East Bernard Brahmarettes matched its two-run third inning with two more in the fourth. In the third, East Bernard Brahmarettes scored on an RBI single by Sulak, scoring Cheslee Karasek.

The inning looked promising, as Sabrina Show singled, plating Alyssa Reyes to kick things off.

Second-inning rally sparks win for East Bernard Brahmarettes, 19-0

East Bernard Brahmarettes jumped out to an early lead on Van Vleck (TX) and captured a 19-0 victory on Friday at Van Vleck.

With 13 runs in the first three innings, East Bernard Brahmarettes left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

An error in the first inning and an RBI double by Kaitlyn Sulak, an RBI single by Haley Clark, an RBI single by Kelbi Fortenberry, a passed ball, a two-run double by Sabrina Show, a two-run triple by Cheslee Karasek, a passed ball, and a two-run single by Fortenberry during the second inning helped East Bernard Brahmarettes put some runs on the board early.
Fortenberry racked up four RBIs on four hits for East Bernard Brahmarettes.

Sulak looked sharp in the circle. Van Vleck managed just one hit off of the East Bernard Brahmarettes' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during her four innings of work.

East Bernard Brahmarettes easily handled Van Vleck pitching as six hitters combined for 15 hits, 15 RBIs and 16 runs scored.

#12 ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. She allowed 19 runs in five innings, walked seven and struck out two.

East Bernard Brahmarettes scored one run in the third inning, and then followed it up with one more in the fourth. In the third, East Bernard Brahmarettes scored on an RBI single by Karasek, plating Maycie Atteberry.
