The East Bernard Freshmen football team traveled to the Schulenburg to take on the Shorthorns JV. The Brahmas fought hard and were able to win a tough game 24-19. Scoring for the Brahmas was Joey Stearman with a long touchdown run and Hunter Goudeau who also broke off a long touchdown and punched in three 2 point conversions. Justin Bosse caught a touchdown pass from Stearman to score as time expired in the first half putting the Brahmas up 16-0 at the half. The defense played tough throughout the game and came up big late in the game when East Bernard needed a stop. Defensively, the Brahmas were led by Hunter Goudeau, Mason Vasut and Isaac Munoz. The Brahma defense has only allowed 19 points in the last 4 games. The win brings the Freshman record to 4-1 on the year and they will be back in action next Thursday at home against Bellville.

The East Bernard J.V. football team notched another win on Thursday night, defeating the Van Vleck Leopards by a score of 50-0. Scoring for the Brahmas was Braden Janecek with two touchdowns and a 2-pt conversion, Zachary Gohlke with two touchdowns, Thomas Long with a touchdown, DeLeon Perkins with a touchdown and 2-pt conversion, Taihron Nichols with a touchdown and 2-pt conversion, and Trevor Bagby with a 2-pt conversion. Thomas Long added two PAT’s to round out the scoring at 50. Defensively, East Bernard posted another shutout, their 4th in the last 5 games. DeLeon Perkins had a nice one handed interception for the lone turnover of the night. Other defensive standouts included Logan Baird, Nick Sebring, and Justyn Billeau. This win improves their record to 8-0 and 3-0 in district. Their next game is scheduled for October 29, in Danbury.
