EBHS JV and Freshmen Football Results
Freshmen:
The East Bernard Freshmen football team hosted the Bellville Brahmas yesterday at Memorial Stadium. The Brahmas of East Bernard found themselves down 8-0 after a long scoring drive by Bellville. EB was able to respond to adversity after being down twice in the game and rallied to win 26-15. Scoring for the Brahmas was Hunter Goudeau with two touchdowns, Christian Alcalar with two touchdowns and a two-point conversion. One of Alcalar’s touchdowns was a reception on a nicely thrown ball from Joey Stearman on a 3rd and long play. The defense played tough and came up with two 4th down stops to seal the game for East Bernard. The defense was led by Ricky Rico and Hunter Goudeau who seemed to be in on every play. Kyler Marek also made big plays from his outside linebacker position. The win brings the freshmen football record to 5-1 on the year and the Brahmas wrap up their season next Thursday against Sacred Heart.
J.V.:
The East Bernard J.V. football team remained perfect on the season with a 48-12 win over the Danbury Panthers. Scoring for the Brahmas was Taihron Nichols with 2 touchdowns, Braden Janecek with a touchdown and 2-pt conversion, Trevor Bagby with a touchdown and 2-pt conversion, Zachary Gohlke with a touchdown, Thomas Long with a touchdown, and Cade Koeppen with a touchdown. Thomas Long added 2 PAT’s to round out the scoring at 48. Defensively, Trevor Bagby recovered a fumble that proved to be the lone turnover of the night. Other defensive standouts were Logan Baird, Nicholas Sebring, and Justyn Billeau. The J.V. Football team will play their last game of the 2015 season on November 5th at home against Tidehaven. Please come out and support them as they look to finish an undefeated season.
