The East Bernard J.V. football team turned in another
dominating performance last night, beating the Hempstead Bobcats by a final
score of 33-6 to remain undefeated on the season. The Brahmas were on fire all
night long, scoring on every offensive possession. Scoring for East Bernard was
Layton Swoboda with a 24 yard touchdown reception, Cade Koeppen with a 35 yard
touchdown reception, Trevor Bagby with a touchdown, Hunter Godeau with a
touchdown, Thomas Long with a touchdown on the ground, and Zachary Gohlke with
a 2-point conversion. Thomas Long was a perfect 3 for 3 passing on the night
with 2 touchdowns; he also converted a PAT to round out the scoring at 33. The
Brahmas played stiff defense all night, led by Logan Baird, Braden Janecek, and
Victor Tichacek. Sabby Muniz forced a fumble and Nick Sebring recovered the
fumble for the lone turnover of the game. East Bernard has a bye week coming
up, and then will be back in action at home against the Boling Bulldogs as they
open up district play. The game is scheduled for October 8th around
7:30 pm.
