East Bernard
8th grade offense lead by Hunter Goudeau rolled up 41 points and the
defense and special teams each contributed a touchdown as East Bernard 8th
defeated Brazos 53-8.
1st
quarter
Destin
Schuler scored on an 18 yard run and then added the 2 point conversion.
Christian Alcalar scored next on a nice 40 yard run and Schuler again picked up
the 2 point conversion. Brazos then took a safety on the kickoff making the
score 18-0. Schuler scored his second touchdown of the night and Alcalar added
the 2 points.
2nd
quarter
Schuler
scored his 3rd and final touchdown of the night followed up by Kyler
Marek scoring the 2 point conversion. Halftime score 34-0
3rd
Joey
Stearman opened the third quarter with a bang returning the kickoff 72 yards
for a touchdown. Destin Schuler kicked the extra point.
Payton
Peloquin intercepted a pass and took it in for a touchdown. Schuler’s extra
point was blocked.
4th
Brazos
picked up a Brahma fumble for their only score of the night.
Joey
Stearman completed a short pass to John Paul Pyle to complete the Brahma
scoring for the night.
Offensive
standouts were the offensive line that kept blowing holes in the Brazos
defense.
Defense
standouts were Zach Vacek, Patrick Hlavinka, Hunter Goudeau.
Special team
standouts were Joey, Stearman, Alex Lopez, and Justin Bosse.
Season
notes, the 8th grade defense has given up only 6 points in 5 games.
