This past weekend, the Varsity volleyball team competed in
the George Ranch LCISD volleyball tournament.
On Thursday, during pool play, the girls competed against some big teams
and qualified for the gold bracket.
On Saturday when we returned, we dropped our first game to
Ridge Point 28-26, 16-25, 8-25. After
that, the ladies regrouped and won the next 3 in a row against Waller,
Cy-Lakes, and North Shore, each taking 3 games, but the Brahmarettes finished
each match winning consolation in the gold bracket.
The Brahmarette volleyball teams had a big night last night
winning all three matches for their opening district game against Danbury.
Freshmen scores were 25-8,
25-7
“The JV girls did a great job last night against Danbury
winning in two.
They took care of business and played strong
throughout.” Coach Brantly
Sara Faikus leader in Set Assists, Amber Adamcik Defensive
leader, Bailey Hlavinka and Shelby Aschenbeck tie Offensive leaders.
Scores: 25-13, 25-10
The Varsity team stepped on the court ready for the next
phase of this season. Starting district
really had the girls focused and they showed that from start to finish. Things the girls have been working on seemed to
fall in place. We’ve been really
emphasizing the “little things” and last night you could see many of the little
things being done right.
Kill leaders were Kori Slanina 10, Miranda Lehmann 5
Aces Ashley Dusek 3, Brandy Babin 1
Digs Amanda Boettcher 9, and Dusek 6
Assists leader Sloan Carr 21
25-13, 25-6, 25-13
