EBHS Cross Country District Meet Results
The East Bernard Cross Country Teams competed in the District Meet this past Wednesday held at Brazos. The Varsity Girls competed first with East Bernard placing 6 girls in the top 10 spots to all earn individual medals and the right to compete in the Regional CC meet. Jessica Rabius placed first overall to claim the District Championship, with a time of 12:19, followed by Kensi Muzik in 2nd with a 12:30, Jillian Hlavinka 3rd with a time of 12:31, Brooke Petrenella 8th with 13:31, Caitlyn Fuechec 9th with a 13:38, Madison Crist 10th with a 13:53, and Gracelyn Martinez 11th in 14:17. In the team standings, East Bernard finished first, for the 10th year in a row, with 21 points, followed by Brazos with 49 points, and Rice 3rd with 64 points. All three teams earned the right to compete in the Regional Meet in Huntsville on Monday Oct. 23, 2017. In the Varsity Boys race, Bo Badger claimed the District title with a time of 17:59, followed by Andrew Dirba 3rd in 18:37, Reagan Whitley 4th in 18:42, and Jacob Wondrash 8th in 19:19 to all earn District Medalist honors. Kolby Townsend was 11th in 19:44 and Barrett 13th in 20:10 to complete the team placings. In the JV girls division, East Bernard claimed the top 9 spots to win their division with 15 points. Individually, Aracely Acevedo was 1st, Logan Goudeau 2nd, Julia Janczak 3rd, Kimball Swiger 4th, Libby Hancock 5th, Kara Riley 6th, Paige Nixon 7th, Lexi Marik 8th, and Alyssa Schulte 9th.Caroline Kunz placed 11th, Camden East 12th, and Cana Matthys 14th to complete the team scoring. In the JV Boys race, East Bernard was edged out by one point by Rice Consolidated. Jackson Barta claimed the District Championship, followed by Daniel Martinez 2nd, Ethan Rejsek was 6th, Ricky Rico 9th, Cade Grovonovic10th, and Jake Nethery placed 18th. In the JH Girls division, Madison Muzik claimed the District Title followd by Samantha Rabius in 2nd, Kexi Warncke in 3rd, Emma Alexander in 5th, Alejandro 6th, and Maria Avila 9th to all earn medalist honors. Isabel Matthys placed 11th, Ella Grymes 12th, Lauren Ware 13th, Sophie Morrow 14th and Erin Ellis 20th to help their team to a District Championship. In the JH Boys race, East Bernard had 5 boys competing, so everyone mattered. Individuakly, Mason Crist claimed the District Championship placed 1st, Followed by Kolby Kurtz in 3rd, Dallas Novicke in 6th, Ryan Kelly 9th, and Cody Kramr in 13th place. ALL the teams competed hard and represented East Bernard in a way you all would be proud. Congratulations to all the runners! The Varsity teams will be headed to Huntsville for the Regional Meet on Oct. 23rd.
