EBHS Cross Country Bearkat Tune-Up Results

The East Bernard High School Cross Country Teams competed in the Klein High Bearkat Tune-Up at Spring Creek Park in Tomball this past Saturday. The Varsity Girls team raced first earning the championship title with 55 points, followed by Klein Oak with 66, College Station High with 90, Klein Collins with 148, and  Klein with 171 points to round out the top 5 teams.  There were 15 teams in the Varsity Girls race with 126 girls racing.  Individually, Jessica Rabius placed 3rd, Jillian Hlavinka 6th, and Kensi Muzik 9th to all earn medalist honors.  Madison Crist finished 24th, Caitlyn Fuechec 27th, Brooke Petrenella 33rd, Gracelyn Martinez 43rd, Aracely Acevedo 71st, Logan Goudeau 75th, and Julia Janczak 85th to complete the Varsity Girls individual placings. In the Varsity Boys race, East Bernard finished 11th out of 17 teams competing against stiff competition.  Klein Oak earned the championship title with 54 points, followed by Willis with 77, Foster with 121, Pearland with 125, and Klein with 152 for the top 5 teams.  Individually, the boys raced close together with Bo Badger in 49th and Reagan Whitley  a step behind in 50th, Isaac Ortiz 65th, Barrett Whitley 73rd, Jacob Wondrash 76th, Andrew Dirba 77th, Kolby Townsend 100th, Jackson Barta 103rd, Ethan Rejsek 107th, and David Martinez 118th to complete the Varsity Boys team with 130 boys racing in the Varsity Division. In the JV Girls race, East Bernard finished 5th place out of 15 teams with 163 girls competing in the JV race. Cypress Ranch was 1st with 29 points, College Station High 2nd with 65 points, Willis 3rd with 68 points, Spring 4th with 124 points, and East Bernard 5th with 171 points just edging out Spring Woods with 172 points.  Individually, Kimball Swiger was the first East Bernard runner to cross the finsih line in 38th place, followed by Alyssa Schulte in 44th, Libby Hancock in 52nd, Paiger Nixon in 54th, Kara Riley in 84th, Caroline Kunz in 85th, Lexi Marik in 88th, and Camden East in 105th. In the JV Boys race,  Ricky Rico finished 112th, Cade Gravonovic was 128th, and Jake Nethery was 145th with 148 boys competing in the race.  Congratulations to all the runners! The District Meet will be on Wednesday Oct. 11, in Brazos with the Varsity girls competing first at 9:00, followed by the Varsity Boys at 9:30, the JV Girls at 10:00, and the JV Boys at 10:30.  The Jr. High teams will be competing on Wednesday afternoon with the JH Girls racing first at 4:00 followed by the JH Boys at 4:30
