EBHS Cross Country Shiner Invitational Results
The East Bernard CC teams competed in the Shiner Invitational this past weekend. The Varsity girls competed in the Big Schools Division 3A - 5A race. The girls claimed the championship with 28 points. Yoakum was 2nd with 85 points, followed by Karnes City with 99, Goliad with 154, El Campo with 179 in a tie with Industrial with 179 as well. There were 12 schools competing in their division. Indiviidually, six of the girls earned medalist honors. Jessica Rabius claimed the individual title with a time of 12:02, followed by Jillian Hlavinlka 3rd with a 12:24, Kensi Muzik 4th in 12:29, Gracelyn Martinez in 8th with 13:22, Brooke Petrenella 12th in 13:41, Logan Goudeau 20th in 13:54, Madison Crist 23rd in 13:59, Taylor Swoboda 24th in 14:01, and Julia Janczac 44th in 14:40. There were 106 runners competing in their Division, In the Varsity Boys race, East Bernard finiished in 3rd place with 87 points. They were edged out of the team title by Navarro who had 71 points and Stockdale who earned 82 points. There were 9 teams competing in the Varsity Division. Individually, Isaac Ortic crossed the line first and finished in 10th overall, followed by Reagan Whitley in 15th Barrett Whitley in 18th, Jacob Wondrash in 26th, Bo Badger in 40th, Ethan Rejsek in 55th, David Martinez in 57th, and Jackson Barta in 58th place. In the JV girls race, East Bernard had 5 girls polace in the top 10 to help them earn the team title for the JV division. Individually, Aracely Acevedo place 1st followed by Libby Hancock in 2nd, Kimabll Swiger in 4th, Kara Riley in 5th, Paige Nixon in 7th, Lexi Marik in 12th, and Alyssa Schult in 16th, Caroline Kunz in 22nd, Cana Mathys in 25th , Kendall Couthit in 39th, and Camden East in 43rd. In the JV BOys race, East Bernard had three boys competed to earn a space. Ricky Rico finished in 29th place, Cade Gravonovich in 31st, and Jake Nethery in 60th with 64 runners competing in the race. In the JH races, we barely had enough to make a team. In the girls race, Maria Avila was thr first to cross the finish line in 21st place, followed by Alejandro Avila in 26th spot, Chloe Miska in 56th, Nicole Sanchez in 95th, and Erin Ellis in 99th with the team finishing 6th out of 12 JH teams. In the JH boys race, Mason Crist finished first for East bernard in 7th, folowed by Colby Kurtz in 15th, Mason Winkler in 63rd, Ryan Kelly in 109 place, followed by Nathan Kramr in 110th. Congratulations to all the runners. The High School teams will be running in Brenham next Saturday while the JH teams will have a week off.
