EBJHS Girls District Track Results




Our EBJH Brahmarettes finished their track season clenching the 2017 24 AAA District Championship in both divisions. The 7th girls’ team earned 290 points and the 8th grade girls’ team earned 212 points. These young girls put together some of their best times and jumps on Saturday, and, as always, our Brahmarettes were very competitive.




Also, congratulations goes out to several individuals for breaking EBJH records this track season. The 7th grade EB records that were broken this year were the Shot Put, 800m Relay, 800m Run and 1600m Run. Emilia Pyle broke the Shot Put record with a throw of 28'7.25". The previous record was 28'6" held by Blair Berry (2013). The 800m Relay team made up of Riley Bottoms, Lauren Ware, Kenna Marek and Kynlee Hall ran a 1:57.80 breaking the previous 1:59.7 record held by Hillarie Blazek, Morgan Kramr, Amanda Walters and Elexis Delgado (2005). Madison Muzik broke two records this season in the 800m Run and 1600m Run. Her time in the 800m Run was 2:25 previously held by Caeli Taylor with a time of 2:32.56 (2015). In the 1600m Run Madison ran a 5:45.21 breaking the previous record of 5:52.87 held by Elizabeth Guerra (2012).




The 8th grade EB records broken this season were in the 400m relay, 1600m Relay, 200m Dash, Long Jump, 100m Dash and Triple Jump. Madison Crist, Keatan Fortenberry, Camryn Whitley and Zoey Talas were a talented team of individuals who broke records with outstanding times in both the 400m Relay and the 1600m Relay. Their 400m Relay time was 51.96 and the previous time was 53.45 held by Jennifer Fucik, Lisa Smaistrla, Pashawna "Squeaky" Williams and Rachelle Florus (1985). Their 1600m Relay time was a 4:19 which tied the record set by Autumn Sandoval, Taylor Swoboda, Jillian Hlavinka and Mackenzie Muzik (2014). Zoey Talas broke two records this season. In the 200m Dash Zoey ran a time of 26.81. The previous record of 27.02 was set by Kaneesha Smith (2010). In the Long Jump she jumped 16'8" breaking Lexi Marek's jump of 16'5.5" (2016). Keatan Fortenberry also broke two records this season in the Triple Jump and 100m Dash. She jumped a distance of 35'11" beating the previous record of 34' 7.25" held by Kori Slanina (2010). Keatan also broke the 100m Dash record running 12.44. Chandra Stovall held the previous record with a 13.46 (2002).




These young ladies did an amazing job for the junior high track program along with the entire Brahmarette Team. Again, congratulations goes out to all of our Brahmarettes. We appreciate their hard work throughout the season.
