EB XC Results from Shiner Meet

The East Bernard Cross Country Teams competed in the Shiner Invitational this past Saturday.  The Varsity Girls competed first racing in the 3A-5A Division.  East Bernard finished as the first place team  out of 12 teams with 25 points, followed by Needville with 91, Industrial with 121, Brazos with 133, and Halletsville with 151.  Individually for East Bernard, Liz Guerra ran away with the first place medal in a time of 12:15, followed by Kensi Muzik in 2nd with 12:36, AJ Navarro in 4th with 12:43, Brooke Petrenella 6th in 12:54, Caitlyn Fuechec 12th in 13:31, Gracelyn Martinez in 13th in 13:31, Julia Janczak 19th in 14:05 to all earn medalist honors. Alyssa Schulte finished 21st in 14:09 and Jillian Hlavinka 27th in 14:18.  There were 82 runners competing in that division. In the Varsity Boys race, East Bernard competed against 10 teams finishing in 5th place with 121 points.  Industrial was 1st with 75 points, Needville 2nd with 78 points, Sealy 3rd with 83, and Rice Cons. 4th with 102 points.  Individually, Isaac Ortiz earned medalist honors finishing 16th with a time of 17:51.  David Martinez finished 27th with a time of 18:56, Blaine Whitley 30th in 19:03, Bo Badger 32nd in 19:06,Ethan Rejsek 35th in 19:21, Jacob Wondrash 36th in 19:27, and Jackson Barta 67th in 21: 26.  There were 83 boys competing in that division.  The JV Girls raced next with East Bernard winning first overall against 10 teams.  East Bernard finished with 46 points, followed by Palacios with 53, St. Paul with 84, MacMullen with 112, and Halletsville with 128 points.  Individually, Aracely Acevedo finished 4th in 14:43, followed closely by her team mates Grace Tovar 5th with 14:45, Libby Hancock 6th with 14:45, Kara Riley 8th with 15:09 to all earn medalist honors. Kendal Douthit finished 27th in 16:36 to help her team to a first place finish. There were 85 girls competing in the JV race.  The Jr. High runners competed in the last race.  In the Girls division, East Bernard finished 2nd overall out of 15 teams with 45 points.  St. Paul earned the team title with 27 points. Needville was 3rd with 126 points, Shiner 4th with 144 points, and Sealy 5th with 163 points. Individually, Madison Muzik was the first EB runner crossing the finish line in 3rd place with a time of 13:52, followed by Alejandra Avila in 9th with a time of 14:44, Samantha Rabius 11th with 14:47, Maria Avila 13th in 15:00, Valerie Grigar 18th in 15:24, Allison Wondrash 25th in 15:33, Kimball Swiger 30th in 15:46, Lauren Ware 46th in 16:16, Emma Alexander 51st in 16:25, Callie Dusek 71st in 17:10, and Anna Briones 106th with 18:47. There were 130 girls competing in the Jr. High race.  At the same time, the Jr. High Boys were racing with East Bernard finishing in 9th place out of 11 teams.  East Bernard had 2 medalists:  Barrett Whitley in 9th place in 13:05 and Andrew Dirba 10th in 13:06.  Also competing was Joe Kielr in 60th place with a time of 15:21, Eric Bradecich 83rd in 16:08, Charkes Boettcher 96th in 16:34, and Raul Tavarez 119th in 20:02  There were 124 boys competing in the Jr. High race.  Congratulations to all the teams and runners!  They will all be competing next week in Weimar with Varsity Girls racing at 8:30, Varsity Boys running at 9:00, JV Girls at 9:30, JH Girls at 10:30 and Jr. High Boys at 11:00.
