FFA BOOSTER CLUB MEETING DATE CHANGE

There will be an FFA Booster Club meeting on Monday, February 9 at 7 pm in the ag shop.

All parents and supporters are encouraged to attend.  (Not on Feb. 2 as previously announced) 

EBHS Girls Basketball Vs Hitchcock

The Varsity Brahmarettes traveled to Hitchcock Friday and came up a little short losing 49-35.  Scoring for the Brhamarettes were Samantha Show - 13 points; Sabrina Show - 7 points; Malynn Plunkett - 5 points; Rebecca Rabius - 4 points; Bailey Hlavinka - 2 points; Aliska Schmidt - 2 points; Kristen Morse - 2 point.  The Brahmarettes are now 6-2 in district play and sitting in 2nd place.  The next game is against Brazos at East Bernard January 27th at 6:15.

EBHS Boys Basketball VS Hitchcock

The Varsity boys traveled to Hitchcock Friday night to take on the Bulldogs. The Brahmas came away with a 63-43 victory to stay undefeated at 6-0 after the first round of district play.

The Brahmas again used their defense to control the pace and shut down the Bulldogs for most of the night.

The Brahmas will be back in action Tuesday night at home vs the Cougars from Brazos.

EBHS Powerlifting Industrial Meet Results

Saturday morning the East Bernard powerlifting team participated in the Cobra powerlifting meet.  The team placed 12 in the meet. Tyler Vasut placed 3rd in the 242's weight class with a total 1075 lbs, Rafeal Belman placed 5th in the 220's with a total of 1005, Charles Chapman placed 7th with a total of 975 lbs, Tyler Bagby 7th with a total of 720 lbs, Trevor Babgy placed 9th with a total of 685.  The East Bernard Powerlifting team will be back in action this Saturday January 31 in Katy Tx at the Mayde Creek Invitational.

7th Grade Boys

The East Bernard Brahmas played host to the visiting Van Vleck Leopards last night. The 7^th Grade B team earned a win by a score of 20-11. Leading scorers were Douglas Grymes with 12, Ethan Hlavinka with 2, Kameron Matthews with 2, Keith Atkinson with 2, and Efrain Lopez with 2. Leading the charge defensively was Riley Henke, Nathan Aguilar, Jose Cubias, Jose Quintero, and Seth Horelica. Their season record is now 6-4.

The 7^th Grade A team lost by a final score of 31-14. Leading scorers were Reagan Whitley with 6, Tanner Baggett with 4, and Cole Lee with 4. Their season record is now 6-5. Both teams will be back in action on Monday, January 26, at Brazos starting at 5:00.

The Varsity Brahmarettes improved to 6-1 in district play with a convincing win over Boling last night 45-23. Scoring for the Brahmarettes; Kelbi Fortenberry - 10 points; Sabrina Show - 10 points; Kristen Morse - 9 points; Aliska Schmidt - 6 points; Bailey Hlavinka - 5 points; Samantha Show - 3 points; Malynn Plunkett - 1 point; Rebecca Rabius - 1 point.  The Brahmarettes will be back in actionFriday January 23rd at district leading Hitchcock. The game is scheduled for 6:15.

JV

The JV Girls Basketball Team defeated Boling last night to move to 6-0 in District play. The girls led at halftime 25-10. They scored 24 pts. in the second half to win 48-25. Mackenzie Wilkerson, Corrinna Navarro and Maycie Atteberry all scored 10 pts. each. Also scoring for the Brahmarrettes: Brooke Polak-5pts., Randi Goates & Jessica Rabius-4 pts. each, Baylee Jankowski-3 pts., and Sara Berrett-2pts.

The JV Team has an overall record of 15-3. They are open on Friday and will resume District play on Tuesday when they host Brazos.

Freshmen

 
The Freshmen girls had a tough game last night falling to El Campo 21-22. Scoring for the Brahmarettes were Emily Dawson-5, Mackensi Muzik-4, Erin Dawson-3, Jillian Hlavinka-3, Kristin Kieler-2, Taylor Swoboda-2, and Blair Berry-2. 

The Brahmarettes will be back in action Friday, January 30, at 7:30 in El Campo.

 The Brahmas hosted the Bulldogs of Boling Tuesday night. The Brahmas improved their district record to 5 and 0 with a 68-32 victory. The Brahmas used an overwhelming defense to take a 42 to 12 going into half.

The Brahmas complete the first round of district play Friday in Hitchcock.
