EBHS Girls JV Basketball Game Canceled

The JV Brahamrette Basketball game scheduled for tonight against Hitchcock at 4:00 has been cancelled.  The Varsity Brahmarettes will still be in action at 5:15 against Hitchcock.

The JH Brahmarette basketball teams traveled to Waller last night to take on Schultz Junior High. 

The 7th B team came away with a well earned victory of 24-10. Their season record is now 4-0.

The 7th  A team won by a final score of 30-9.  The girls started the game with determination and never looked back.  Their season record is now 6-0. 

The 8th B team, made up of 5 girls, battled hard the entire game but ultimately lost with a final score of 16-23. Their Season record is now 0-1.

The 8th A team pulled out the win with a real nail biter that came down to the final seconds. The final score was 33-32. Their season record is now 6-0.


All four teams will be back in action in Danbury on Thursday, January 8th.

EBHS Varsity, JV, and Freshmen Boys Basketball Vs Bellville Results **UPDATED**

The Brahmas won an overtime thriller Tuesday night vs. the Brahmas of Bellville.

The Brahmas had to find from behind most of the night but with some good defensive stops and some clutch shooting down the stretch the Brahmas were able to come away with a 40-38 victory.  

The Brahmas are back in action Friday night at Sealy.

EBHS Varsity and JV Girls Basketball Vs Boling Results

The Brahmarettes opened district with a big win at Boling 47-40.  Scoring for the Brahmarettes were Bailey Hlavinka - 10 points; Malynn Plunkett - 9; Rebecca Rabius - 9: Kristen Morse - 7; Hallye Mica - 5; Sabrina Show - 4; Aliska Schmidt - 2.  The Brahmarettes will be back in action Friday at hoome against Hitchcock.  The JV starts at 5 with the Varsity to follow.

The J.V. Girls Basketball Team opened district play last night with a victory over Boling. The Brahmarettes led at halftime 29-9 and capped off their win by a score of 58-20. Leading all scorers was Corrinna Navarro-14pts. The following also scored for the Brahmarettes: Jessica Rabius-12, Baylee Jankowski-11, Brooke Polak-7, Mackenzie Wilkerson & Maycie Atteberry-6 pts. each, and Brandi Rosales-2pts.
Caylin Grymes and Randi Goates led the attack defensively.
The J.V. girls are 10-3 on the season and 1-0 in District.

They will host Hitchcock on Friday, Dec. 19th at 5:00.

The Brahmarettes were back in action in the Weimar JV tournament on Saturday. They opened play Saturday with loss to Giddings 22-38. Later in the day the girls defeated Rice 38-30.

The 7th grade basketball team traveled to Schultz junior high, in Waller, yesterday. The Brahmas proved to be outmatched, but gave maximum effort the entire night. The B team lost by a final score of 24-12, scoring for the Brahmas was Keith Atkinson with 4, Kameron Matthews with 3, Ethan Hlavinka with 3, and Timoteo Lopez with 2. Their season record is now 1-4.
The 7th Grade A team lost by a final score of 31-19, scoring for the Brahmas was Ethan Rejsek with 7, Reagan Whitley with 6, Tanner Baggett with 3, Colby Jedlicka with 2, and Cole Lee with 1. Their season record is now 3-2. Both will be back in action on Thursday, January 8th at home against the Danbury Panthers.

The 7A and 8A girls basketball teams competed in the Brazos Tournament this weekend. Both teams played against Columbus and district competitor Brazos.  Great defense along with team effort paid off as both teams brought home Championship trophies! Congratulations Brahmarettes!

Varsity Results-

The Varsity Boys Basketball Team spent the weekend in Industrial at the Cobra JAM.
The Brahmas finished the tournament with an 2-3 record. 
The Brahmas learned a lot about themselves and what they need to work on in their young season. 
The Brahmas are back in action tomorrow night as they host the Brahmas of Bellville. 


JV Results-

The JV Boys were back in action Saturday in the Palacios Tournament.  Despite only having 6 players, the Brahmas again split 2 games, losing 41-16 against Sweeny, and beating Bloomington 39-15.  They finished the Palacios Tournament in 5th place.  Scoring for the 2 games are as follows:

Spring 2015 5/8 STAAR Test Date Move

Texas Education Agency has announced that they will be moving the Spring 2015 5/8 Math STAAR test from March 30 to April 20. The change has been noted on the EBISD website calendar, along with the other test dates.

The East Bernard JV Boys Basketball team opened their season with a win last night against Shiner St. Paul.  The Brahmas played well defensively, with many of their points coming off of turnovers.

EBHS Girls Freshman Basketball Vs Columbus Results

Last night the freshmen girls defeated Columbus 40-5. Leading scorer for the Brahmarettes was Mackensi Muzik with 11, followed by Jillian Hlavinka with 10. Also scoring for the Brahmarettes were Erin Dawson, Blair Berry, and Taylor Swoboda each with 4, Emily Dawson-3, and Bailey Whitley and Shea Potts-2.

The girls will compete in the Weimar tournament this Thursday and Saturday.

EBHS Freshmen Boys Basketball Vs Shiner St. Paul Results

The Freshman Brahma Basketball Team started the season with a 20-13 win last night again the  Shiner St. Paul Cardinals. The boys gave an excellent defense effort not allowing more than 5 points in each quarter . The scorers for the Brahmas were: Triahon Nichols with 6 points, Braden Guthman with 4 points, Andrew Clifton with 4 points, Tyler Kellner with 3 points, Colton Hundl with 2 points and Josh Hlaninka with 1 point. 

The boys will be back on the court in a tournament this weekend in Palacios.

The Varsity Brahmarettes came away with a win last night against Columbus 58-50.

EBHS JV Girls Basketball Vs Columbus Results

The J.V. Girls defeated Columbus last night 42-31. Corrina Navarro and Maycie Atteberry scored in double digits, each scoring 10 pts. Also contributing to the scoring: Sabrina Show-7, Randi Goates-6, Brooke Polak & Mackenzie Wilkerson-4 pts. each, and Jessica Rabius-3 pts. Corrina Navarro gave the “spark” that the team needed to pull away after halftime.

The girls host Sacred Heart on Friday before beginning District play next Tuesday, Dec. 16th in Boling.


The J.V. team is currently 8-3 on the season.

The Brahma Boys' Varsity Basketball Team opened their season with a 57-18 victory over the visiting Cardinals of Shiner St. Paul. 
The Brahmas did a great job defensively against the Cardinals holding them to 9 points each half.
The Brahmas are back in action tomorrow in the Cobra JAM at Industrial High School.

All three Brahmarette teams came away with a win last night against the Hempstead Bobcats.  The 7th and 8th grade B teams, made up of a combined team, played a great game and won with a final score of 28-19.  The 7th and 8th grade A teams both played very well running the court offensively and playing aggressive defense.  The 7th grade final score was 48-12 and the 8th grade final score was 40-21.
The 7th and 8th grade A teams will travel to Brazos Junior High to play in the Brazos Tournament on Saturday, December 13, 2014.  We will then have a non-district game on Tuesday, December 16 against Schultz JH in Waller.

EBHS Freshmen Girls Basketball vs LaGrange Results

The freshmen girls defeated LaGrange 26-18 on Saturday to take third place in the Hallettsville tournament. Leading scorers for the Brahmarettes were Jillian Hlavinka and Taylor Swoboda with 8 points each. Also scoring for the Brahmarettes were Mackensi Muzik- 6 and Emily Dawson- 4.

The Brahmarettes will take on Columbus on Tuesday at 7:30 in the Junior High gym.

EBJHS Boys Basketball Vs Hempstead Results

Last night the Brahmas traveled to Hempstead to face the bobcats. The 7th grade split with Hempstead, B team lost a nail-biter by the score of 14-12, and A team won 30-22.
The B team battled hard all game but ultimately lost when Hempstead made a layup with 12 seconds remaining to take the lead. Leading scorers for the B team were Douglas Grymes with 7, Ethan Hlavinka with 3, Kameron Matthews with 1, and Riley Henke with 1. Leading the charge defensively for the Brahmas was Keith Atkinson, Seth Horelica, Jose Quintero, Timoteo Lopez, Jose Cubias, and Nathan Aguilar. Their Season record is now 1-3

The A team won by a final score of 30-22. The A team played very well all night and came away with a win. Leading scorers were Tanner Baggett with 10, Reagan Whitley with 6, Colby Jedlicka with 6, Cole Lee with 4, Brock Aschenbeck with 2, and Bo Badger with 2. Leading the charge defensively for the Brahmas was JR Schauer, Ethan Rejsek, Shane Hlavinka, and Ryan Morse. Their season record is now 3-1.
Both teams will be back in action next Monday, December 15 in Waller starting at 4:00.

On Thursday night, the East Bernard 7th grade basketball team played host to the Brazos Cougars. The B team lost the game by a final score of 17-7. Scoring for the Brahmas was Riley Henke with 3, Douglas Grymes with 2, and Keith Atkinson with 2. The Brahmas battled hard but just couldn't get enough shots to fall to win the game. Their season record is now 1-2.
The A team beat the cougars by a final score of 33-7. Scoring for the Brahmas was Reagan Whitley with 9, Tanner Baggett with 9, Ethan Rejsek with 4, Brock Aschebeck  with 3, Ryan Morse with 2, JR Schauer with 2, and Shane Hlavinka with 2. Leading the charge defensively was Colby Jedlicka, Kameron Matthews, and Bo Badger. Their season record is now 2-1

EBHS Girls Basketball vs Palacios Time Change

The game times for tomorrow's Brahmarette basketball game at Palacios have changed.  The schedule is as follow:

JV Girls will play at 5:00 in JH gym
Varsity girls will play at 6:15 in Main gym.
Freshmen girls will play at 7:30 in JH gym.
