Following the workshops from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm, I am registered for a live webinar with Temple Grandin called The Autistic Brain.  You are welcome to join me at the library to view the webinar.

Dr. Grandin will highlight the latest research about autism, Asperger's syndrome and other mental disorders. She will offer new insight and practical ideas for special education leaders and parents to help them better understand why particular strategies work and don't work. A question and answer period will give you the opportunity to tap into the knowledge and experience of her incredible mind.

Attendees of this webinar will:
  • Gain new understanding about the autistic brain that will debunk misconceptions and suggest new approaches to enable educators to help children with autism and their anxious parents.
  • Understand the implications of the new DSM-5 for SPED departments related to the increasing number of cases of autism and other mental disorders.
  • Learn what works -- practical strategies for empowering educators to work with parents to help each child with autism find their unique strengths, succeed in school, and become career-ready.

Space may still be available to attend the webinar on your own.  Here is the link for registration.
