The 7th Grade Boys Basketball A team took home second place in the Rice tournament on Saturday, February 1st. They played Schulenburg in the first round and won by a final score of 35-11. Scoring for the Brahmas was Kyler Marek (6), Hunter Goudeau (6), Joe Petrenella (5), Justin Bosse (4), Destin Schuler (4), Christian Alcalar (4), Grady Prazak (2), Isaac Munoz (2), and Joey Stearman (2). Leading the charge defensively was Zach Vacek causing 4 turnovers.
In the championship game, the Brahmas lost a nail-biter to Rice Consolidated by a final score of 32-29. Scoring for the Brahmas was Christian Alcalar (12), Isaac Munoz (6), Hunter Goudeau (5), Joey Stearman (3), Kyler Marek (3). Leading the way on defense was Grady Prazak, Destin Schuler, Zach Vacek, Justin Bosse, and Joe Petrenella. The A teams record now stands at 8-5 on the year.
