Brahmarettes vs LaGrange Results

East Bernard Volleyball played LaGrange Friday night in a non-district game.  Overall the program competed well, however, varsity fell a little short.
The freshmen volleyball team had an exceptional performance defeating La Grange in game 1: 25-11 and game 2: 25-19.  Hadley Carr served six points for us in the first game, while Kristen Morse served 4 points for us the second game with two aces.

The JV girls won in two.  The girls work hard all week in practice and it showed during their game.
Scores: 25-19 25-23

Varsity had another tough game on Friday against LaGrange.
The girls had a great start.  They are doing a good job of setting the pace, but in the third LaGrange picked up their pace too.  The girls didn’t stop though.  They continued to battle, but came up a little short losing 25-17, 25-15, 13-25, 23-25, 9-15. HS VOLLEYBALL

This past weekend, the Varsity volleyball team competed in the George Ranch LCISD volleyball tournament.  On Thursday, during pool play, the girls competed against some big teams and qualified for the gold bracket.
On Saturday when we returned, we dropped our first game to Ridge Point 28-26, 16-25, 8-25.  After that, the ladies regrouped and won the next 3 in a row against Waller, Cy-Lakes, and North Shore, each taking 3 games, but the Brahmarettes finished each match winning consolation in the gold bracket.

The Brahmarette volleyball teams had a big night last night winning all three matches for their opening district game against Danbury.
Freshmen scores were 25-8,  25-7
“The JV girls did a great job last night against Danbury winning in two.
They took care of business and played strong throughout.”  Coach Brantly
Sara Faikus leader in Set Assists, Amber Adamcik Defensive leader, Bailey Hlavinka and Shelby Aschenbeck tie Offensive leaders.
Scores: 25-13, 25-10
The Varsity team stepped on the court ready for the next phase of this season.  Starting district really had the girls focused and they showed that from start to finish.  Things the girls have been working on seemed to fall in place.  We’ve been really emphasizing the “little things” and last night you could see many of the little things being done right.
Kill leaders were Kori Slanina 10, Miranda Lehmann 5
Aces Ashley Dusek 3, Brandy Babin 1
Digs Amanda Boettcher 9, and Dusek 6

FIRST GRADE ORIENTATION

There will be a First Grade Orientation tonight (Tuesday, 9/3/13) for all First Grade Parents.  All parents and guardians are invited to attend.

BAND INSTRUMENT DRIVE TODAY - 9/3/13

Collins instrument drive for band students needing supplies is today from 5-6:30pm in the band hall.

The instrument drive is for Collins music company to come into town and give beginner students the option of ordering their instrument without having to leave East Bernard. They also will have supplies for any other band member who is short on supplies and needs anything musical for their band instrument at all. You do not have to buy or rent your instrument from Collins, but they are here to help you out if you need.

Remember all 6th grade instruments and supplies or needed for next week.
