BRAHMARETTE VOLLEYBALL

The Brahmarettes had another great season.  Last year they made it to the Regional Tournament for the 1st time in 15 years and this year they were the undefeated District Champs (1st in 16 years).

Last night the girls played lights out against Schulenburg in the Regional Quarter Finals.  After 5 intense games, the Brahmarettes lost 19-25, 25-23, 25-22, 16-25, 9-15. final record 28-9

The loss was not from lack of fight, desire, or support, but simply 2 great teams battling it out and we fell a little short.  We wish the Lady Horns the best of luck and have vowed to see them again next year.

We will be losing 2 fabulous seniors, but we will compete for them next year when we join the race for the state title.

I have had numerous compliments on our fans.  We want to THANK EVERYONE for the fabulous support.  The girls thrive on it and it truly raises their level of competition.  The Ace Crew was great.  Rest your voices, we'll be looking for you next year.

To finish our season, our kill leaders were
Ashley Dusek 15, Terralyn Williams 11 and Kori Slanina 8
Sloan Carr had 21 assists and Kelsey Goodwin had 18
Carr had 3 aces and Dusek had 2
Dusek picked up 33 digs and was helped by Carr with 22, Amanda Boettcher with 20, Slanina with 10 and Goodwin with 9
Dusek also led with Miranda Lehmann in blocks with 5 a piece, while Slanina and Angelica Lopez had 4 each.

Thanks again

GREAT SEASON BRAHMARETTES!

Thank you for your tremendous support at the volleyball game last night.  Our team played with incredible heart and pride, and our fans are truly a class act.  I heard nothing but compliments from the Columbus ISD administration about how special we are.We have a lot to be proud of here in EBISD.

Continue to strive for excellence in all that you do, and Let's Go Cross Country!  Bring home the Gold!!

BRAHMARETTES AREA CHAMPS!

Congratulations to the Brahmarettes for earning the title of Area Champs for the 2nd year in a row.

The ladies gained the title by beating the solid team of Blanco 25-17, 25-19, 25-23 in Smithville Thursday night.

They will compete against Schulenburg on Tuesday in Columbus time TBA for the Regional Quaterfinals.

The girls were extremely eager to play coming off of a 1st round bye.  They did a good job of staying focused on the task at hand.  We talk a lot about taking each step and putting everything in to it before we start working on the next.  We new Blanco would play hard to the final point and they did, but so did our girls.

Kill Leaders for the night were Ashley Dusek with 14 and Terralyn Williams with 13
Sloan Carr had 18 assists with Kelsey Goodwin putting up 13 both of them also contributed with an ace a piece.
Dusek and Miranda Lehmann played defense on the net with 3 solo blocks each.
Dusek also led in digs with 26, followed by Carr and Goodwin with 13 a piece and Williams and Amanda Boettcher with 10 a piece.

Thanks for all the great support.  The gym was LOUD last night.  I know the girls appreciate it.
