CROSS COUNTRY RESULTS

 The Boys and Girls Cross Country teams competed in the St. Thomas Episcopal  Invitational this past Saturday.  The Varsity Boys came away as the runner up team  out of 12 teams behind St. Thomas Episcopal, the host school.  Individually, Wyatt Kieler placed 1st overall .  Brian Perez placed 5th, Daniel Garza 6th, Brian Barta 16th to all earn Medalist honors.  Caleb Moseley was 24th, Jacob Muniz 27th, and Brady Babin 38th.  The Varsity Girls placed 1st as a team as well as Corinna Navarro placing 1st overall to win the meet.  Carson Swoboda was 3rd, Katelyn Walters 15th, and Cassidy Mica 16th to all earn medalist honors.  Lissa Blackert was 21st and Melody Jenkins was 23rd to all help the team win the top spot.  The JV boys were the 1st place team winning by 2 points over St. Thomas.  Individually, Chris Dickson was 7th, Patrick Marik 11th, John Failla 12th, Joey Ortiz 14th, Andrew Hudgins 15th,  Russell Zahradnik 29th, and Shane Kresta 39th to all help the team win.  The JV girls  earned the top 3 spots with Lexi Atkinsson 1st, Emily Barboza 2nd, and Angie Cruz 3rd.   Allison Allen was 6th to all earn medalist honors.  They could not compete for team placing  with only 4 runners.  The Jr. High Girls came away as the runnerup team  Liz Guerra was the top EB runner in 4th place with Jillian Hlavinka 19th,Jessica Rabius 20th, Taylor Swoboda 21st, Kasey Ktrezschemar 22nd, AJ Navarro 26th, Callie Kopecky 28th, Baylee Jankowski 29th, Kristin Kieler 63rd, and Calyn Grimes 72nd with 121 runners competing.  The top Jr. High  runner was Josh Mica who placed 19th.  Zach Gohlke was 31st, Blaine Whitley 37th, Isaac Aguilar 44th, Trey Schmidt 45th, Steven Castillo 47th, Brent Vacek 57th, and Blake Winkler 71st with 180 runners competing.  Congratulations to all individual medalists and winning teams!  All teams will be competing next on Wed. Oct. 24th at the District Meet that will be held at Brazos High School.  The Varsity and JV teams will run Wednesday morning with the first race starting at 9:00.  The Jr. High Teams will race Wednesday afternoon with the first race starting at 4:00.
