Brahma Classic

The Boys Basketball Prgram hosted the Brahma Classic this weekend.
The team was able to win the championship Saturday with a 53-45 win over Tidehaven.

The Brahma Boys' Basketball Program would like to thank everyone who volunteered their time to help with the tournament.  Without you it would have not been possible.

We wanted to say a special Thank You to our ladies who set and and had a wonderful Hospitality Room.  (Homemade Sloppy Joe's and Taco Soup).

The Brahmas next contest is Tuesday Dec. 20th where we will be kicking off district play vs. Schulenburg.  Your support is appreciated.

The EBJHS 7th grade "B"  Basketball team defeated Schulenburg and raised their season record to 4 - 0.
Scoring for the Brahmas were: Mike Sima-6 points / Zachary Goelke - 6 points / Christian Otto - 4 points / Blaine Whitley - 4 points / Quinn Dusek - 2 points / Victor Tichacek - 2 points / Isaih Montalvo - 2 points.

Drama Dinner

The Drama Club is having a Dine In (with tea) or Drive Thru Dinner on the opening night of "The Wizard of Oz" on Friday, Dec. 16.  The serving begins at 4:45 pm to 6:45 pm.  The show starts at 7:00 pm.  We will have chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, bread and green beans catered by Ben's Chuck Wagon.  Cost of plates are $8.00.  If you need tickets please ask a Drama Club member.

Free Practice Tests

FREE "ACT" PRACTICE TEST
AT GEORGE MEMORIAL LIBRARY

Representatives from the Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions will conduct a free practice ACT® test at Fort Bend County Libraries' George Memorial Library, on Saturday, January 7, from 10:00 am to 2:15 pm, in Room 2B of the library, which is located at 1001 Golfview in Richmond. A follow-up strategy session will take place on Saturday, January 14, from 10:00 -11:00 am, in Room 2B.

Students will take the practice test during the first session, and will review their scores and learn strategy tips to increase their future scores at the second session. The test takes just over 4 hours, including administration instructions and breaks. Actual testing time is 2 hours and 55 minutes. Students are encouraged to bring #2 pencils; calculators are allowed as long as they are not TI-89s.

Used by U.S. colleges to determine admissions and to award scholarships and grants, the ACT® test assesses high school students' general educational development and their ability to complete college-level work. The multiple-choice test covers five skill areas: English, mathematics, reading, science, and writing.

The sessions are free, but seating is limited and reservations are required. To register online at the library's website (www.fortbend.lib.tx.us), click on "Calendar," select "George Memorial Library," and find the program. Participants may also register by calling the library at 281-341-2604, or by visiting the library.


FREE "SAT" PRACTICE TEST

A follow-up strategy session will take place on Saturday, January 28, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, in the Meeting Room of the library.

The test is three hours and 45 minutes long, and consists of three sections – Critical Reading, Writing, and Math. JV girls win the Hallettsville Tournament

The JV girls defeated Shiner St. Paul, Smithville and LaGrange to win the Championship at the Hallettsville Tournament. We were injury plagued during the tournament and finished the last game with only 5 players. The girls did a fantastic job overcoming the adversity and fighting for the win.

December 6th Early Release

East Bernard Elementary School will be hosting the UIL contest on Tuesday, December 6, 2011.  We will dismiss all students at 12:30 PM.

The Junior High Boys played their first home game last night against the Industrial Cobras. All 4 teams won and will be in action Next Monday starting at 5pm in Brazos.

Christmas Programs

The Elementary Christmas programs will be on Thursday, December the 15th in the JH gym.

The PK, Kindergarten and 1st grade classes will present "The Mice Before Christmas" at 12:00 and 6:00pm and the 2nd 3rd and 4th grade classes will present "The Twelve Days of Christmas" at 12:45 and 6:45pm

·        Toiletry items include: shampoo, soap, deodorant, tooth paste, tooth brush and feminine hygiene products.
·        Undergarment items include: underwear, socks, white t-shirts (children ages 0 to 18 years and women)

Donations can also be delivered to Savon Drugs on December 7 and Insurance Net, Inc in Wharton December 6th – 9th.

Readers Theatre

On Monday, December 19, 2010, the Junior High Gifted and Talented students will be presenting, The Night Before Christmas and Texas Night Before Christmas in a Readers Theatre style. The performance will start at 7pm on the cafeteria stage.
