Volleyball

The East Bernard Brahmarettes opened thier district play last night against Hempstead.  All three teams claimed a victory.  Varsity won 25-16, 25-10, 25-8.

Overall record 13-6
District 1-0

Everyone competed tonight to accomplish the win.

Kill leaders were Terralyn Williams 8, Ashley Anderson 7, Ashley Dusek and Mary Demny 3
Lauren Hlavinka, Erica Reyes and Sloan Carr each had 2 aces.  Anderson also led in digs with 12 Carr, Reyes and Dusek pick up 6 a piece and Kelsey Goodwin claimed 13 assists while Carr had 11.

Box Tops for Education

Many of you may be unaware that we are saving the Box Tops for Education, Campbells Soup labels, aluminum  tabs from soda or food cans and cancelled postage stamps.

The Box Tops provide funds that Mr. Gaudette uses for special programs.  There is a basket on the table as you enter the building.

JV Volleyball Results

Last week we competed against Sealy on Tuesday and Bellville on Friday.  We played hard both games. 
We went 3 games with Sealy and unfortunately lost in the third.  Scores: 22-25, 25-21, 12-25
With Bellville, we only went two games and came out with a big win on Friday.  Scores: 25-23, 25-17 Outstanding job by all the girls resulting in our Win on Friday's game. 
Overall Record:  8-1
Our next game is against Hempstead (there)

JV Football Slays the Stafford Spartans

Last thursday the Brahma JV football team started off their season right where they left off, with a dominating win over the Stafford Spartans. The guys knew they had a lot to live up to after last season, being the only team to go undefeated. The defense dominated the Spartans offense all game.  The Spartans did not have a first down until late in the fourth quarter.  Also, the defense never allowed the Spartans in the red zone in the shut out win 33-0.  The defense was led by Cedrick Perkins and Nathan Tovar.  The defense gave the offense a lot of room to breathe and allowed the offense to start on short sides of the field. On offense, from the very first play to the last, the offensive line controlled the line of scrimmage.  Garrett Polak had a 75 yard run the very first play of the game.  The Brahmas scored every possession.  Garrett Polak, Cedrick Perkins and Zach Stavinoha all had rushing touchdowns for the Brahmas.  Through the air, Derrick Rucka completed a 30 yard touchdown pass to Nathan Hlavinka, who made a fingertip catch.  Offensive player of the game was Garrett Polak.  All and all we still have alot of work to do, but we are very excited and enthusiastic about what our season will bring and the strides we can make.  Come out this week and support the Brahmas in their first home game against Houston Christian.

Student Schedules...

East Bernard High School students may pick up their 2011-2012 schedules from the counselor's office on Thursday, August 11th between the times of 9am to 11am or 1pm to 3pm.  Students MUST still pick up schedules from the high school gym on the first day of school.  All students should be aware of the dress code and follow it throughout the school year.  Any student not in dress code the first day of school will be sent home.
