EB Volleyball Tuesday

EB beat Rice Tuesday night to finish the regular season 10-2 and placing 2nd in district.

Our kill leaders were Terralyn Williams with 18, Ashley Dusek with 9, and Kori Slanina and Ashley Anderson with 4 each.  Dusek added 3 aces and Kelsey Goodwin and Lauren Hlavinka added an ace. Defensively Sloan Carr picked up 10 digs while Dusek and Goodwin each picked up 9.  On the net, Williams had 3 solo blocks, Courtney Smithand Dusek had 2 and Slanina, Anderson and Carr each had 1.

The girls finished the regular season strong.  They all had a common goal of working hard and working to win.  They learned early in the season that "just playing" wasn't enough.  They learned to play the game: recognizing opportunites and exploiting weaknesses.  It's been sometime since East Bernard has seen the volleyball playoffs and the girls are fired up to be the 1st in something they hope continues.

The Brahmarettes will play a warm-up game with Needville at 4:30 in Needville on Friday Oct.28.

The first round of playoffs will be Monday or Tuesday against Lexington or Cameron Yoe.  Their district will not be determined untill Friday afternoon.  We are trying to set up time and place now.  I will pass that information on when I get it.

Thanks
